NTPC plans 2 x 800 MW coal based thermal power project in Ramagundam

NTPC is planning to set up a 2 x 800 MW stage I thermal power project in Ramagundam in Warrangal district of Telangana. The company had completed environment impact study and received environmental clearance for the entire stage of 4000 MW. It has also received water supply agreement for 4.73 TMC ft water per annum from Sripada Yellampally project.

In March 2016, NTPC has awarded the 2×800 MW steam generator (SG) island package to BHEL. The contract is worth of Rs. 35000 million. The scope of work involves design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing & commissioning and civil works for the Steam Generator island package.

In October 2016, the company has invited bids for Flue Gas de-sulphurisation (FGD)system package. In Feb 2018, it has awarded the same to GEPower India.
